(Not so) Goodreads challenge

Every year I set out to read 52 books in 52 weeks. It’s a lofty goal, but most years I come close.

This year I’m not even going to come close. I wasn’t sure I was going to even hit the halfway mark. I know there’s still a few weeks left of the year, but there’s no way I am going to finish 25 books between now and New Year’s Eve. When I finally accepted that was the case, I realized I can delve in to some works I have been wanting to, but knew I could not finish in a week’s time. It’s been liberating actually, but I am disappointed that it’s yet another year I won’t make my goal.

But hey, maybe I’ll actually get to finish Jonathan Franzen’s Freedom and Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84. That is, after I finish rereading the Harry Potter series (and reading those I never have.)
