Title: Indigo Blues
Author: Danielle Joseph

As someone who has an unusual name, I always thought it would be super cool to have a song written about me. Think: “My Sharona”. I gotta imagine if your first name is Sharona you’ve spent your life cursing everything you see with “Sharon” on it or self editing it to fit your needs. So someone immortalizing you and your name in a song? Holy cats would that be awesome!

Or would it?

Indigo Blues looks at the flip side of being the “it” girl from a super popular song. Lead singer Adam wrote Indigo Blues after a breakup with Indigo and to his surprise the song took off. Only now everyone things Indigo is some bitch who destroyed him, and she just desperately wants to hide from the attention.

The book is told from the perspective of both characters, giving them each a chapter to tell their story. You get the pain of each – Adam who still misses his ex and Indigo who just wants to remain anonymous.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned this year – both in the books I’ve read and my own personal life – it’s don’t date a musician. haha
